Description: For sale is a Sonic Frontiers SFP-1 Signature tube phono stage (M M/MC) (final production series), me t iculously maintained and recognized by audiophiles worldwide. This rare, gold-finish model was manufactured in Canada by the esteemed Sonic Frontiers and has seen minimal use, as my primary focus has been CD/SACD listening. This Signature version not only features a rare special gold plate finish but also includes several carefully selected electronics upgrades that elevate its performance to meet the highest audiophile standards. In excellent working and aesthetic condition, this phono stage has recently been serviced by a technician with deep expertise in Sonic Frontiers equipment. The following enhancements and updates were applied: IEC Inlet Upgrade: The original IEC inlet has been upgraded to the Furutech FI-06(R) , featuring Rhodium-plated α (Alpha) conductors crafted from solid pure copper, ensuring pristine power connectivity and audiophile-grade performance. Input Cable Enhancement: The input cable has been replaced with Van den Hul D–502 Hybrid cables. Each of the four signal lines is made of 19 x 0.1 mm high-grade OFC wires with premium silver coating, providing an exceptional signal path with unmatched clarity (the ouput cable remains the Kimber Kable wiring). Sound Dampening: Soundcoat dampening sheets have been applied, minimizing vibrations and enhancing the stability of audio reproduction. Electronic Component Upgrades : Various internal electronic parts have been replaced (refer to photo), ensuring longevity and a premium auditory experience. Comprehensive Cleaning : During servicing, all components, including the Kimber Kable connectors , were thoroughly cleaned and inspected, ensuring pristine connectivity and signal flow. Tubes: It comes equipped with two Mullard 6DJ8/6922 (CV4024) and two Gold Aero 12AT7A Gold Grade tubes in perfect condition, known for their long life and audiophile performance. The phono stage has not been used since service, so it’s essentially in "like-new" condition and ready to perform flawlessly for its new owner. This unit is configured with 100 Ohm MC cartridge loading (100R resistors). Should you wish to alter this, simply solder a different resistor value to the labeled RLoad terminals (one per channel); details can be found in the manual. SFP-1 Signature comes packed with 4 different commonly used resistor values (1K, 100R, 30R and 10R) to allow you to adjust the nominal 49K9 load to the following values: a) 980 ohms (using the 1K resistors); b) 100 ohms (using the 100R resistors); c) 30 ohms (using the 30R resistors); and d) 10 ohms (using the 10R resistors). This Sonic Frontiers SFP-1 Signature phono stage remains highly upgradable for audiophiles seeking the next level of sonic refin ement. The unit can be elevated to even greater audio quality by replacing the MIT capacitors with premium-grade options such as Mundorf MCap® SUPREME Classic SilverGold.Oil or V-Cap OIMP capacitors.
